Freemen's Prayer

Our Father who has taught us to fulfill the law of Christ
By bearing others' burdens, keeping the sacred tryst,
In brotherhood to labour for the welfare of mankind,
That the weaker shall not suffer, nor the unfortunate fall behind.

We beseech Thee that Thy blessing upon our Guild may rest,
That our Charities be fruitful, and our administration blest,
To uphold the great traditions of the City we all love,
In our civic preparation for the heavenly life above.

Inspire us all to dedicate our lives and work on earth,
To the service of Thy Mastership and our Commonwealth's rebirth,
That life's fraternal sacrifice may bring its own reward
Of joy in this world and the next, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
