East Sussex Holiday
Sunday 13 May 2018 - Wednesday 16 May 2018
Dress: as shown in the event instructions

The Master is delighted to offer Members this lovely holiday based at the AA 4 star East Sussex National Hotel near Uckfield. Members will arrive on Sunday the 13th of May and be at leisure till dinner and drinks with the Masters guests, the Lord Lieutenant of Greater London Sir Ken Olisa OBE and Lady Julia. The following day we will take a trip through the glorious countryside to Uckfield Village which is an area going back in time and enjoy a pub lunch, after which we will go onto the famous Bluebell Railway for "Steam and Cream", a journey that will hopefully take in last of the bluebells with afternoon tea before returning to the hotel for a drinks reception hosted by the Master and then dinner at the hotel. On Tuesday the Master has arranged a full day out to include an exclusive visit to Charleston, the country retreat of the Bloomsbury Set, followed by a pub lunch and a tour of Berwick Church, most well known for the extensive 20th century murals that were painted during the Second World War by the Bloomsbury Artists. We return to the hotel for our final dinner at East Sussex National Golf course with a surprise speaker. On Wednesday we have a unique chance to visit Firle Place, a wonderful period house in a great setting filled with wonderful objects and giving a rare chance to visit a (small) stately home which still used as a family home followed by lunch, before we all depart and make our way home. Transport can be provided to and from the station from those wishing to travel by train.
