Advent Holiday in Budapest
Monday 27 November 2017 - Friday 1 December 2017
Dress: as shown in the event instructions
For the Master's overseas break, he has selected the wonderful and beautiful Hungarian capital of Budapest. Straddling one of the great rivers of Europe, the city is a cornucopia of stunning architecture and magnificent public buildings, and sits on a series of thermal springs. The Guild party will stay in the lovely five star Boscolo Hotel. Those who wish may join the 13.25 flight from Heathrow, or may make their own travel arrangements if preferred. The evening will commence with a dinner at the Borkatakomba restaurant which has been built into a wine cellar hewn into the hills at Budafok and provides a genuine authentic atmosphere, along with a folklore show. During the next couple of days there will be a tour of the City and St. Stephen's Basilica, a visit to the famous Szechenyi thermal baths and a tour of the Castle district including entrance into the Fisherman's Bastion and the equally famous hospital in the rock. Also included will be a tour of the Parliament buildings and Opera House. A little time is set aside to allow guests free time, with a suggested visit to the Christmas Markets. The last day will conclude on-board a private Danube Cruise with music and dinner. Day five will consist of breakfast in the hotel and transfer to the airport for those who are joining the Guild's 12.25 flight home. All meals are included and are a feature of the arrangements.
