Day trip to Battle & Lunch
Wednesday 5 October 2016
Dress: Casual / Comfortable

To commemorate the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, the Master is laying on a relaxing day-trip to Battle, to enjoy a talk about the site and the battle, and a guided tour of the battlefield and the ruins of Battle Abbey. During coffee after lunch a guest speaker will describe the fortunes of the site from the time of the Dissolution of the Monasteries until the present day. Refreshments will be served in the Pilgrims Rest on arrival, and a 2-course lunch will be served there after the tour of the battlefield and the Abbey. The Pilgrims Rest is a 5-minute stroll from the railway station (which is served by an excellent service from Charing Cross).
