Reception & Dinner - Apothecaries' Hall
Thursday 27 June 2013
Dress: Black Tie

The Society's Hall in Blackfriars, formerly the guesthouse of the Dominican Priory of the Black Friars, was acquired in 1632. Destroyed in the Great Fire of London, it was re-built by 1672 on the same site, where it still stands. It is the oldest extant Livery Company Hall in the City. The Society is No. 58 in the order of precedence of the City Livery Companies. The Hall is approached through an atmospheric private courtyard, off a cobbled lane that has survived intact since the Great Fire and it is here, if the weather is clement, that we will have our pre-dinner drinks. Following on, we shall enjoy fine food and wine as we dine in the stunning Great Hall, where the Irish oak panelling dates from 1671. In usual tradition there will be musical entertainment and a guest speaker. The only thing to add is your good company!
