Visit to Harrow School & Lunch
Saturday 4 July 2009
Dress: Suit / Jacket & Tie

The Master has arranged a private visit to his old school, Harrow - which is a short taxi-ride from Harrow-on-the-Hill underground station. The visit begins with coffee in the elegant Shepherd-Churchill Room, with its large terrace over-looking the gardens and with magnificent views over London to St. Paul's. Then, after giving a short talk on the history of Harrow, the Master will guide members and their guests informally to the ancient St. Mary's Church (with its Saxon tower) and Byron's Peachey Stone.

A Pimms reception on the terrace (weather-permitting) will be followed by a delicious 3-course seated buffet lunch with coffee - nothing like the school food you used to know, we promise you! After lunch the group will be divided and taken by Harrow Masters and their wives on guided tours of the historic school buildings, including the Jacobean Fourth Form Room (featured in the Harry Potter films!), the Speech Room, Chapel, Alex Fitch Room, Museum of Harrow life, and the Picture Gallery.

The group will re-unite for tea on the terrace before departing for London.
