Weekend Visit to Malta
Wednesday 19 September 2007 - Sunday 23 September 2007
Dress: Comfortable

This year the Master has selected the island of Malta as the destination for the Guild's overseas trip. A new member of the EU, Malta is a jewel in the Mediterranean. Full of fascinating history, the island offers exciting opportunities to explore and experience the ebb and flow of different cultures and power in the region over the past two millennia and more.

During this long-weekend trip the Master has put together a programme that will combine a delicious taste of the past with a fascinating exploration of the present. Tours of the ancient cities of Valetta and Medina will be complemented by excursions to visit and explore the island, as well as a day trip to Gozo and some fine dining to absorb the true flavour of the region.

The hotel that has been selected, the Corinthia Palace, offers gracious, 5 star comfort in traditional style. The hotel is centrally placed on the island, roughly midway between Valetta and Medina. It boasts both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, extensive recreational facilities and a choice of restaurants. Subject to availability, Guild members will be offered the opportunity to extend their stay both before and/or after the Guild's official programme for the special price of £45.00 per person per night, including a full English breakfast, for two people sharing a double room.

Flights can be arranged from Gatwick, Heathrow or Luton. The price quoted for travel and accommodation is correct at the time of going to press, but it is subject to flight availability and fuel, airport or other tax changes.

Price and booking information only available to members.
